  • And another one slips away...

I love the people I love very passionately that's why upon hearing the news that John Martyn has passed away I fell in to a state of plangent disrepair and spent the evening looking for answers at the bottom of a vodka glass. Slightly hungover and none the wiser I have, however, come to the conclusion that Defoe was right when he said: ' The Good die early, and the Bad die late.' Certainly plenty of examples about but I won't waste my time...

The prospect of never seeing him live is compounded by the fact that I missed his last gig by a couple of days. I guess even 'the best of men cannot suspend their Fate.'

  • It's Not About The Art, Daaarling...

I hate Hoxton. I don’t like fatuous contemporary art. I cannot abide neon-sporting pansies, fat-girls in leggings, asthenia-ridden Harrovians, menopausal harpies, oysterballocked art-inamoratos, sybaritic second-rate artistes, prep-school sophisticates, perorating narcissists, supercilious self-aggrandizing curators, oleaginous lotharios, vermicular sycophants, corpulent rapacious femmes, putative trendsetters, city-based actuaries, new-age pioneers, conservative infidels, nictitating liberals, middle-aged couples with matching rucksacks, Edward Burtynsky or Trevor Sutton...but I love free booze.
